One day at a time - choosing to feel good

So what does this commonly said phrase really mean? It's something I've been thinking a lot about recently. As Eckhart Tolle would say - life is about living in the 'now' - although I personally prefer to take things 'one day at a time' rather than 'one second at a time'.

It takes a lot of mind training and effort to not worry about the future, in times of uncertainty. The mind loves worrying. Worry can give you a form of identity. Living one day at a time is being present and grounded when you don't know how things are going to work out, when you've made mistakes, when there is no evidence that you will be supported (great quote from Iyanla Vanzant), when you can feel the fear but not give it power over you. Trying to ignore fear won't work - you need to acknowledge it, become friends with it, and also decide to let love rule your emotions rather than fear.

I am starting to believe that getting into a state of feeling good, even when the external circumstances are telling you quite the opposite, is key. Again, this doesn't mean that you ignore your concerns - I think that you need to just take some time to get yourself into a good-feeling state - be it by meditation or visualization, or whatever else. I saw this great quote by Lee Harris yesterday - Imagine yourself now living the life you wish where everything is in place - your love, your work, finance, your relationship with this world, with the people around you, with nature and the Earth. How does that feel? Again, close your eyes and imagine this experience. See it all around you. How does that feel?

Practice this as a daily meditation accessing this feeling of wholeness, of wholeheartedness. For the more you access this feeling, the more you will bring this feeling toward yourself as a daily reality. It is like meditation. The more you meditate, the higher your consciousness becomes and the more permanent your state of deeper connection becomes. This works in the same way. If you are regularly accessing this feeling that your life is fully abundant then you are carrying that energy with you wherever you go. That is the key. ~~Zachary through Lee, from Abundance and
Energy Speaks

So take as much time as you can to access these feelings. You may have to deal with 'reality' at other times, but practicing this kind of positive thinking will surely accelerate the blessings and abundance that are due in our lives. Times are not easy for a lot of us. I am learning some lessons right now. I think self belief really does come into this. We need to really believe that we can have and that we deserve the things we want.

We need to maintain positive energy and belief, even when times get tough. It's hard to explain a technique for positive thinking - for me, it starts by being open minded and open hearted - allowing love to come in, acceptance and surrender to what is, and determination.

One day at a time, is my mantra for the moment.
