When 'bad' things happen ..

Sometimes, when you thought you were doing well, an old thought pattern can pop out of nowhere and knock you for six. This actually can come disguised as an opportunity to move forward and heal your hurts .. but often we react and fight against what we perceive as negative.
'This **** shouldn't be happening.'
'This is too painful to deal with.'
'Why do I always mess things up?'

We push away the unwanted situation. To the mind, this seems like the natural thing to do. But by doing this, we are shooting ourselves in the foot, and the problem will re-emerge at a later time, possibly with more intensity.

How do we get past our challenges?
Yes it's great when life flows easily and circumstances go well for you. But, generally speaking, things that seem like obstacles tend to spring up. Now we can treat them as a friend or an enemy. In fact, it's probably true that how we respond to challenges determines our success more than how we respond to the blessings. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow. This is true.

The mind will come up with all sorts of doom predictions and try to tell you that your life's messed up - and it's vital to go beyond the mind - the way we do this is to stop resisting what happens, however awful it may seem. We dive fully into the emotions and thoughts and situations that we perceive as a problem. This can take practice and patience. It's not always easy to choose to break free from pain when so much of our identity has been invested in negativity. When you choose to do whatever it takes to move beyond pain and into freedom, you may gain fresh insight as to what is causing your issue - and it's no
t always what you think it is.

Anyway, my message is - if you've come up against a bit of a brick wall, don't panic. See it as an opportunity rather than an enemy. Trust that things will happen as they are meant to. Allow life to flow rather than fight against it - this includes allowing difficult things to happen and see what these things have to teach you.

Hope this makes sense!
Best wishes

A few things this week has taught me

Well well. This one really has been one of the toughest weeks in a good while. It's pretty rare for me to get too depressed these days, ...
