England -- Day 5 of A to Z Blogging Challenge - Things I Love

I have lived in England all my life. It's a beautiful country. I find it a little sad that so many people would rather go abroad than take time to explore what's on their doorstep - of course it's good to go abroad too, but England has so much to offer.

I have been lucky enough to live in two different locations - Dorset and Yorkshire - both are beautiful, and both are very different - and the variety is one thing that I love about this country. Here are pictures of two famous coves - Lulworth Cove in Dorset, and Malham Cove in Yorkshire.

England has some great national parks. Probably the best known of them is The Lake District in the north west - the scenery there is breathtaking - here are a couple of pictures from there:

The rainbow picture was taken on a cruise from Bowness, and the other one is at Grasmere (my favourite village in the Lake District).
One of my favourite parts of England is called the Cotswolds, located mostly in Gloucestershire. The honey coloured buildings are fantastic - it almost feels like going back in time when visiting some of the places there. Here are two examples:

England has quite a few large cities and towns. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that the most famous is London. Whilst I like London, it's not my favourite place. The other large cities - Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Liverpool and Bristol - have their good bits but probably aren't a must if you're visiting the UK from abroad. The best cities include Oxford, Bath, York and Chester - and why not have a picture of all four of these ..

Chester

Bath

Oxford

York
I have already talked about the English coast on the Day 3 post. There's that as well! Hopefully these pictures will convince you that England is a beautiful country.
Tomorrow I have a choice between football, flowers, faith .. what shall I choose?
