People - Day 16 of A to Z Blogging Challenge - Things I Love

Do I love people? Well, I guess I am slowly learning to. I can't say that people have been at the top of my 'favourites' list throughout my life - and there are times when people in general have pissed me right off. Also, I am not what you would call a 'people' person.

But there are some wonderful people in this world, and I have family and some friends who I love dearly. For me, quality is far more important than quantity when it comes to people. I would far rather have 5 close friends than 50 acquaintances who I'm not that bothered about.

The love for people is a different kind of love that I have for music, football or even animals. People don't usually stir the same passion in me as music does. A lot of people say they love animals more than people, and that is understandable. Animals do not have human minds and are more unconditionally loving than humans. But, deep down inside most people, there is good. Even inside a lot of people who are seemingly nasty, there is probably good lurking somewhere. Most people are just cut off from their true nature due to conditioning and trauma.

I get frustrated with the mindset of some of the population in the UK. Sometimes I think to myself that English people are a bunch of idiots. But, most of the people I know are really cool - and I think there must be a lot of awesome people about, even if it doesn't seem that way sometimes.

Most people just want to be loved, and most people just don't know what it is to truly love or be loved, and express their frustrations in different ways. I am so grateful I found a spiritual path that works for me, otherwise I'm not sure what I would do - and I would not love people either. Smile more at people, be warm and friendly when you can, and show a little love. Opening up to people is certainly part of the journey of opening your heart.

Letter Q on Monday .. quietness is the obvious choice - although quality is another good topic. Not made up my mind yet .. will be back in a couple of days :o)
