Quirkiness - Day 17 of A to Z Blogging Challenge - Things I Love

So, I decided on this subject for the letter 'Q' - because, let's face it, who wants to be normal and boring? I have never been a conventional type, and I like some of my little quirks - such as:

- I am not quite a trainspotter, but not that far off being one.
- I am still a little bit obsessed with football.
- My fashion sense - I used to have a pair of pink trousers ..
- My taste in music.
- Going off for random walks on my own.
- My interest in geographical locations.

Plus many more I could probably name. My mind can run off in all sorts of directions, and a lot of my thinking has done me harm - which is why the universe has shown me that I do not need to identify with my mind and that I can transcend certain thought patterns. The point there is, whilst I think it's good to be a bit quirky, a little too much can be harmful. Everything in moderation, as they say.

For example, I used to be ridiculously obsessed with football, and analyse player statistics to a degree which would not be out of place for an autistic person. As the years have passed, I've become less obsessed and I know that there are more important things in life.
It's okay to be 'weird' up to a point - for example, whistling along to a tune in a cafe is okay, but dancing in the street singing an ABBA song would be a bit much.

It's generally the people that have slightly weird tendencies that are drawn to the spiritual and paranormal. But then, what is wrong with being a bit weird anyway? As long as your heart's in the right place and you're reasonably mentally stable, it's all good.

Here's to the quirky ones :)
